I purchased a clutch off of ebay and I cant get it to fit in my 07, bummer. The old clutch slips right in. The clutch basket does look different than my worn clutch which leads me to believe its not the right one. There is a 5TA 11 stamped on the basket and a 5TA 00 stamped on the inner hub. Is the mystery clutch for an 07, if not which model is it from? Here is a link to the ebay add were there are pictures of the clutch http://cgi.ebay.com/...sQ5fAccessories

Well, for 5TA-11 most returns show Crankshaft Piston for a YFZ450 Quad or the Cylinder for same - some returns also show 2003 to 2005 WR450F returns on same.
5TA-00 has no returns in searches - use the quick parts lookup on the right -

Can you find any other numbers - possibly complete??

Possibly - the number should be 5TA-xxxxx-11-00/5TA-xxxxx-00-00 - but that could mean a whole slew of parts since the xxxxx is really the identifier.

For your 07, the parts should be:

Basket 5XD-16150-50-00
Boss 5TA-16371-10-00

Numbers stamped on parts are rarely useful. The same casting can be and often is used to make more than one part. The basket is an assembly of several individual parts, some of which interchange back to the '03 450 (5TA), and some of which were changed in '05. The trouble here is probably that the basket you have is from a pre-'05 model with the 2.818:1 primary reduction ratio. Your bike has a 2.652:1 ratio, which means the gear on the basket is smaller than the older ones, and your drive gear on the crank larger.

The boss remains the same throughout the series, but you need an '05-'07 basket if you use the complete stock assembly.

I'm probably going to list it on ebay I just want to be accurate. So I don't mislead somebody. So It sounds like its for an 03-05 450 most likely?

If the driven gear is too large for your application, it looks that way, yes.

the clutch also has 8 steel clutch plates instead of the 7 in the 07's

The lower number of plates was compensated for in '07 by changing the thickness of the steel plates, the pressure plate, and springs, and was done to reduce clutch lever effort.

The boss and basket were the same '05-'07 (the boss goes back to '03).
