Will running a in-line fuel filter on my yz450 restrict flow to much?

No, The 450 only uses a few drops of fuel at a time and even if you ride it as hard as possible, the flow even through a filter, can keep up.

So does the YZ not have a fuel filter at all unless you put an inline one?

It has three. One on each of the two inlets at the top of the petcock from the tank, and a third built into the needle seat.

I don't think I have seen any kind of maintenance involved with those, when should we be changing those out.

they do not need to be replaced. Just cleaned when they become dirty. There are two screens on the petcock and 1 in the carb that is right above the float needle.
