Had sort of started this discusion(sp?) on the rocky mountain forum earlier today.

What I am proposing is that we either try to align ourselves WITH the NRA or form a UNIFIED NATIONAL VOICE for dirt biker privleges(sp?).

Land/Trail/Plate-Ability/EPA Standards Ect. Just follow the NRA template. Think about it... All the NRA does is protect gun owner rights. And yes I know that we're protected by the Bill Of Rights when it comes to wepons... But National forests don't have that right . We're granted pursuit of happiness. I think that trumps some crazy "Travel Mis-Management Plan"... for starters!
The future of the Colorado 500 has recently been put into jepperdy(sp?) because of some emissions standard that front range bikes may have to meet... that combined with NEEDING a plate now in a lot of areas to legally ride, this would make that plate unobtainable.

CHECKMATE! GAME OVER!
:prof:
See where this is going....
MTN. Bikers have been around for 30 years, have been organized for 10-12 years. They have IMBA.
The non-FOOT traffic haters have the Sierra Club. We NEED A UNIFIED VOICE!!! :prof:

Blue Ribbon Coalition is national.

Isn't a large part of the problem the fact that so many people don't get involved? How do we get everyone to see the light?

But again our forces are TOO divided. We need ONE voice, when we've got all the, area/state/interest groups, our strength/voice/power is deminished. WE NEED UNIFICATION! Think about the other groups that have ONE VOICE/ONE GOAL and what they accomplish. I just don't see us getting there unless we organize into a unified front.

We COULD have one voice through BRC, but they are fully supported by US (well some of us)

Their buget is about 1/100th of what groups like the Seirra club get (much funded by big business looking for a. a tax write off b. "PR" for being Green)

My numbers might be off, but I seem to remember BRC had a TOTAL of about $400,000 last year for legal defense...my friends, that is about what SC spends on POSTAGE to send out their propaganda.

AFAIK, the nationwide membership numbers for BRC are less than the membership to THIS site.

Apathy is why we fail, not the anti-access nazis

So there should be a link on every page to BRC? Might help. You know I put forth the idea of a monthly articale focusing on land access rides/groups to a couple of the big dirt bike mags... NOT even a reply! But again the problem is a lack of unification. The Co 500/TPA have more money than that and possibly more "members" if you include the Co 500 riders. Look maybe if everyone that belonged to BRC made a point of letting all their buddies know they they were EXPECTED to join BRC $$$ would increase along with aggressiveness. FORGET P.C. .
