here are some tire weights i got today when i weighed the tires i have in stock. the scale i used is a pretty accurate one not some cheapy one so i think the numbers are pretty right on. maybe the mods can make this a sticky and people can just add tires and the weight on here that aren't listed already. i will add to it as i get different ones in stock to try. feel free to weigh against my scale too so we have numerous runs.

Dunlop 952 80/100/21- 8.5lb
Dunlop 952 110/90/19- 11.5lb
Dunlop 952 120/90/19- 12.2lb
Dunlop 952 120/90/18- 13.2lb
Dunlop D756 110/90/19 = 11.9lbs
Dunlop 756RR 120/80/19- 11.0 lb
Dunlop 756RR 80/100/21- 8.6lb
Dunlop 773 110/90/19- 12.8lb
Dunlop 773 80/100/21- 8.4lb
Dunlop 745 120/80/19- 12.2lb
Dunlop 745 90/100/21- 8.4lb
Dunlop 745 80/100/21- 8.0lb

Bridgestone 604 120/80/19- 12.4lb
Bridgestone 603 90/100/21- 8.8lb
Bridgestone 404 110/90/19- 12.0lb
Bridgestone 404 120/80/19- 12.2lb
Bridgestone 403 80/100/21- 8.4lb
Bridgestone 403 90/100/21- 9.2lb

Maxxis Maxxcross IT 110/100-18 14.2 lbs
Maxxis Maxxcross IT 110/90/19 = 12.9lbs

Michelin MS3 110/90/19 = 13.3lbs

Pirelli Scorpion mid/hard 110/90/19 = 11.7lbs
Pirelli Scorpion mid/hard 80/100/21- 8.0lb

Now you see why people race with 19" tires

Thanks for the info. I have been laughed at for weighing tires!? I have seen racers spend hundreds on Ti and not even think twice about tire selection and they SPIN.

Oops, I corrected it. I'd image that the RR is supposed to be lighter. Dunlop is also producing a new tire for the 09 YZ250 called the 756G that's 1/2 pound lighter than the regular 756. It's a Yamaha only part though.

Great post, I too have been laughed at for weighing tires. But this is the worst possible place to have extra weight.

Coming from a Mountain Bike racing background I have also wondered why MX tires have not used some of the weight saving technology out there. Kevlar beads would help to save weight.

A light set of tires/wheels sure makes the bike move and react faster.

Are Kevlar beads not a good application for a motorcycle? Are the forces to high? Or is it cost?

I am hoping the Tubliss system works out and then you get weight and flat performance advantages in one.

Actually (speaking of fronts, not rears), the 756F RR is heavier than the original 756.    ...I've not run a rear in a long time, so I'm not sure.

ahhh, thats the one I was waiting for. thank you.

I got the soft compound millville sticky and my jagged mountain rocks and 450 ATE THAT TIRE UP!! every 2nd or 3rd lug is ripped clean off, its pretty bad.. I think I need a hard compound tire next time. I have heard good things about the 756

The 756 is my favorite tire but it's not a long lasting tire. The Dunlop 952 is cheaper and lasts longer.

what about the weight?

are either tires good for trail/forestry riding? my trails are pretty harsh, lots of big sharp mountain rocks, especially on the hillclimbs. sometimes its a 10 ton rocks and the only thing sticking outta the ground is its sharp edges that are like razor blades and they dont budge when your tire hits them at 1000 RPM.

Based on H Bomb's scale, the 952 is very light.
