I've seen a lot about the '03s and the "miss" so I'm curious just how many of you are experiencing this. I guess I got lucky as my '03 has no miss whatsoever. Have 8 rides/races on it (at 7 diff. tracks), 30 degree to 70 degree weather, indoors and out, and 7 other racers have taken laps on it (both 2 and 4 stroke racers). No miss. So let's see some numbers.

Well I guess I can't post a poll (or I screwed it up). So just reply in the thread - YES or NO.

NO, but it's hard to start in the cold. Runs great when I get it going.

Yes.. Throttle MUST be held STILL at 1/4 or slightly less on level or near level ground with a VERY slight pull on engine. Do I ever ride like that? No, but it does miss. Do I care? Maybe. On the track it's nothing but good!!!

I got my 03 in early September and I have had no problems with it. The only thing I had to do was adjust the fuel screw when the colder weather came here in VA. I have run it in 100 degree to 30 degree weather on both 93 octane pump fuel and also racefuel. No missing and no problems.
Maybe just a bad batch or CDI's?

Hi nikki,

I have an '03 wr250F and it HAS the 1/8 to 1/4 throttle miss. :)

It does it on the way to the starting line, and on the way from the finish line, but I must be twisting it enuff to not notice it during the race. (I race Hare Scrambles).

No, I tried the 1/4 throttle thing "just to see if I could find the miss but nope, not there.."
I got my bike sept. 25th

Yes it does. It's the CDI and Yamaha knows about it. And it has nothing to do with the way it is ridden, I had an '01 and I could do everything from tight singletrack at 7,000ft. to racing it in Mexico and Phoenix. Never missed a beat. You are lucky if you don't have the problem. Hopefully mine will be right soon......

NO.....I started it in the 20 degree cold and it backfired like hell for a while, but in warmer weather, it rocks.
