i've not done it on mine (though it needs it badly) but i am pretty sure i remember gina telling me you have to drill out the rivets and pop new ones on when done. for the name plate that is.

for repacking, you have to drill ALL the rivets out. the 3 in the back will rip the packing in half if you don't. leaving half the packing still in the cannister. then re-rivet when all is together. at least i think that's how i remember the note.

Geez, what a pain! Can't they make them a little more user friendly? Like unscrewing the bolts and then screwing them back in (i.e. reusable)? At least some of the other companies like FMF uses Allen screws instead of rivets - poor design IMO.

is does have 3 allen head bolts. it also has 3 rivets in the end that hold the (heck i don't know what to call it) in place and aligned. the perforated tube fits inside this.

an enterprising person could tap it and use screws for the next repacking i guess.

How much packing did it take? I bought 2 bags of MSR Silent Sport packing since 1 bag didn't look like enough to do it. Man, that stuff is spendy, $16 a bag!
