polisport handguard fitting issues........

Im trying to fit some poiliposrt shield handguards to my 08 450. Im having problems lining them up properly and when they are lined up, it seems that the handle bar clamps are not fitted flush with the bars (protapers). One side can be flush but the there is a slight gap on the ohter side of the clamp. Ive been assured that it is the correct mounting kit for the pro tapers, and you can see that one end is larger than the other too. Also, it seems that it wont line up flush with the wrap around bar so i would have to screw the bolt in to the bar at an angle????

Anyone else fitted these to pro tapers, and did they go on well or did you get the same issue as me above?
