Interested parties should also call and email their senators directly urging them to oppose omnibus bill HR5151.

Let President Bush know your feelings. He is our last hope and is pro-energy development, so Wilderness is NOT what he'd want. Hopefully he'll veto!!
Likely the Dems are trying to force it down his throat. I just sent off my letter to everyone, incl President Bush. Even though it is too late to influence a Senator or House member's vote, at least it lets them know my feelings.

Change we can believe in. We get what we deserve.

THIS LOCKS OUT 2.1 MILLION ACRES FROM ALL AMERICANS except those physically and financially capable of multi-week long extreme hikes. That precludes most people over the age of 35 and anyone with any sort of injury or those of us who work of a living.
EVERYONE who enjoys the outdoors should click on the link above.

Some points of the bill:
A) Closes off access to 330 million barrels of oil and 8.8 Trilliion cubic feet on natural gas.
B) Cost $10 Billion to implement
C) Take away local/state controls over our land
AND MOST OF ALL:
D) Redefines BLM's statement of purpose from multi-use management to a conservation/preservation organization.

The sad thing is this bill passed the senate on a secret meeting the Sunday before the first official day of the 111 St. congress. Hold on all for the rest of the 1450 days to go. I would like to thank all you who who voted democrat.
