Hey guys,

Can someone who is running the FMF Titanium Powerbomb header give me some input? I just recently added the header and I have noticed a tremendous amount of heat radiating off the header. I figured that since it is lighter metal, it would release the heat faster, but is this a concern?

With the stock header and a different aftermarket header, I could idle for a 3-4 minutes without any additional heat being given off, but now, it turns blue and "smells" really hot within 2 minutes of starting cold. Did anyone accommodate this with jetting?

Thanks for the help!

Mike

I've had the Ti header and muffler on since last fall. No problems with heat. The Ti actually expands less with heat, which means the pipes diameter doesn't change as much as stainless steel (I suspect we are talking about thousands of an inch). I really haven't notice a dramatic difference between stainless steel and Ti. It is a lot lighter. I worry about heat if the radiator is overflowing, not the pipe. Ti turns a really bright blue. You should see Tim Ferry's pipe. Happy riding

I second Beanb1 and his input.Don't worry about the heat.
Titanium is extremely durable.
My powerbomb glows pretty bright if I let it idle to long.
Could be my jetting causing some of that ,but I'm scared to mess with the carb.
If you know what your doing with the jetting you might be able to keep your header from getting to hot.
