The smart ones get rid of it altogether by installing auto decompression.

I am running a Works Connection Elite clutch perch and lever with the hot start. The cable will hook up to any hot start lever.

I would get rid of it, if the entire top end wasn't just done, shes a beast right now

Only the exhaust cam need be changed, and that will have no effect on your top end job any more than adjusting the valves would. Using either the OEM 450 cam from an'03-'05, or a Hot Cams part, the engine will be an even bigger beast, in addition to being much easier to live with.

You will be very happy with an auto decompression cam and no lever. The best change I have ever made to my bike, even after a rebuild.

After I install my YZ450 Cam I'll have to get a new clutch perch. I'm going to do the mod this weekend along with Cam Chain Replacment. The lever is intergrated with the clutch lever. I think its a Works Connection setup.

You can use a DRD hot start cable kit, and use the WC perch instead of the DRD lever.
