Just wondering what differences there are in the new 450 frames. Would it be possible or practical to swap a 450 engine into a green-sticker 400 frame?

Good question.
Didn’t YAMAHA bless the WR with an aluminum subframe for ’03? Other than that change, I don’t know what the dimensional differences of the two frames are. I would think the engine swap would have minimal fabricating.

What ya need to find out is if the 450 YAMAHA engine can swap into the CRF450 frame lol! :)

Chaindrive,

Check out Dave J's post on the YZ side. It talks about modifying the 426 with 450 gear. He discusses the difference in frame dimensions as well. CLICK HERE
