For those who doubt what our founders intended, read this twice, then tell me they didn't believe we derived our freedoms and rights from God, and that we support our Government if and only if it continues to abide by those principles.
The point, of course, is not that you have to believe in God. It is that if we choose to deviate from those principles now, it is against the founders' wishes and with full knowledge that we do so at our own peril. Considering how well thought out the rest of these documents are, and the first-hand experience of these gents with what happens when you ignore the obvious, I'd just as soon take their advice and counsel.

Agreed, with the knowledge that 75% of the world's people believe in the same God, and that arguably 100% of the founders did.
Therefore, based upon our principles of majority rule, and that we don't change the precepts our government was founded on lightly, it is proper for our government to continue as we have with our motto "In God We Trust". By the same token, the vast majority prefers to keep "...One Nation Under God...." in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Lest we allow the tail to wag the dog, and the decidedly minority group who are atheist or believe in another God be allowed to alter the principles that the vast majority has always supported, the United States should carry on as we have. At least until those minority groups become the majority. Even then, I think we have a dillemma.

PS: Sorry, guys for sounding so serious about this and getting off on a tangent. It is a bit of a sore subject for me. I firmly believe our rights as off-roaders are being yanked out from under us because of the very erosion of our other constitutional rights by those who want to re-interpret the intentions of our Constitution to meet "today's changing society". I've seen it in the battle over the 2nd Amendment, and I'm seeing the same thing in the battle over land use rights. The difference is, we don't have a Constitutional Amendment that distinctly protects the right to ride on public land. Chew on that awhile.

Hell, Why not go so far as to impose manditory church attendance.. That is the most moronic thing I've herd in a long time.. Have any of you ever really thought about the stories that are told in the bible? Do you really belive a whale swallowed a man and spit him up on shore? turning sticks into snakes and talking snakes.. How about the story of the guy who built the arc and stored 2 of every species of every animal on there...Thats one big ass arc! Bushes on fire that talk.. and so on and so forth.. Simple logic tells me those are great fairy tales..some of You guys are baseing your lives off of stories written thousands of years ago and that our forefathers believed in this all the way..Well through modern science (which has been surpressed no thanks to religion) we have come a long way .I don't think our forefathers were in any way half as intelligent as we have become today.. many years ago we burned people at the stake for practicing science ..they were called witches.. 500 years ago we use to think the world was flat.. who knows what the I.q was 2000 years ago..
Hey Dan in HB , i try to understand what your saying but your hiding behind all your big words and i think your comparison of motorcycles to the religious issues of the constitution is a ploy to win over the people of this forum..
I am entitled to my opinions as are you so you can hate me for thinking this way but like to keep an open mind and i think for myself and religion is not my way..

You and I have had a reasonable disagreement, and I appreciate your demeanor and intelligent debate. You have some rational basis for your thoughts, despite the fact that I do not completely agree with your conclusions.
What amazes me is how some here consider themselves knowledgeable enough on the subject to ridicule others' beliefs when they obviously have a very limited understanding. Consider the source, I guess.
Thumpininthedesert, I certainly don't hate you, and my comparison of the freedom to practice religion -to- the freedom to utilize public lands for riding was not a ploy, it was an attempt to convey a common principle. If you can't grasp the connection, I am afraid our conversation would not be constructive anyway. If you don't believe, that's fine by me, more power to you. But consider this: if I'm wrong, have I lost anything? But if you're wrong, well, I'll try to put in a good word for you anyway (grin). Later, my friend.
