The PA DS ride is not until June 2-3. Well organized event and you can walk away with some great prizes.

Ok I just realized that bike night does not officially start for 2 weeks....but either way I will probably be riding up there after work to grap a bite if anyone want to join me.

Also, a few of us are planning to ride at bear creek this saturday.  The weather looks crappy, but if you want to join us let me know.  Rob is planning to bring his giant trailer so we'll have plenty of room.

Are you talking the Bear Creek amphitheater in Canton?

Heh, I remember outlaw riding near there long before he made a pay to ride area.
Sometimes we used to just ride down the ridge and pop right onto 77 when it was time to leave.

I'll probably head down. I was going to go for Sunday, but I see that's going to be road only. Might have to see if I can get the 18th off. I'd be in for riding together even if we don't travel down together.

I will have room in the truck if anyone wants to go. As the day gets closer we can arrange a place for pick-up.

Goggles - Sorry to bug you again, but do you know anything about the rideability of  the B&O Eastern tracks that exist south of interstate 70? A few of us are going to be in the area Sunday, and I might be able to convince them of a side trip.

What's going on people. I am new to this site but been riding the areas around I-480 for 23 + years.  I have a 2008 XR650l plated but I meet my buds (w/no plated bikes) behind the old pizza hut in Garfield Mall.  There is a trail behind the pizza hut that takes you down to the power lines.  From the powerlines you can go to the old "Dumps".  There is still alot of riding area back there with some jumps, climbs, mud, etc. where nobody bothers you.  There are also other areas connected that I can show you.  We are meeting up there today at 2:00pm to do some riding.  If anyone sees this and wants to tear it up with us a bit let me know or just meet us up there.  My name is Ed.  If you want to contact me and talk about that area or any others that you may know of cell# is 216-536-7513.

Hey Ed, I wish I would have seen the post sooner and I may have met you up there.  I live 6 miles south of that area and would like to check it out, let me know the next time you are planning to ride there.

Rob - I had to hacksaw off my rear axle but finally switched over to the knobbies.  Let me know if you still want to ride somewhere this Saturday, I'm thinking of possibly heading down to wellsville for the day.

Sorry, most of my historical books & stuff have yet to be unpacked. Don't know much about rails or roadbeds south of I-70. Where does this line run from/to? I'd like to check it out in Google Earth.

It starts in Byesville. The old historic RR just folded this year. It starts in Byesville heading south to Pleasant Valley. It then swings SW to Cumberland, then S to W of Reinersville, and finally S to almost Mill Grove.

The historic RR was in the process of buying and restoring a section at a time. This leads me to believe that it's mostly intact.

Check out bsrw.org for a some information.

EDIT: If you need any more prints like the 2 I gave you to decorate, I just got a bunch more.

Two weeks ago I went to Bear Creek. It's a nice area for beginners or young riders. Not to technical, more groomed ATV paths. MX track was nice.

Saturday we went to Mines and Medows and it was great. Good tight single track to open ATV trails and is close by for me atleast.

Cool, thanks for the heads up on Bear Creek, I won't waste my money!  Mines and Meadows sounds good though... I'll have to check it out this summer... can't go this weekend once again due to rotten school!

x2

Thanks for coordinating Rob :banghead:

We had a great ride on Saturday at M&M, spent 3 solid hrs riding single track, technical trails, hill climbs, etc and probably only hit half the trails.  Make sure you print out a map if you go, or pay $5 for one there.  Definitely worth it.

IMO, best riding area within 2 hrs of NE Ohio.

Bummer. Science, you still going? Anyone else? If I drive down I'll have room in my van for one or two other bikes.
