IMO (and JUST mine) you didn't make the corner and rode right into the guy. I've had this happen to me a couple times out in the woods and usually it's been an issue of target fixation. Someone comes around a corner, sees another rider coming the other way, fixates on them and not on making the corner.

Sorry if you were looking for sympathy, but that's one of my biggest issues with riding out on the trails, people don't count on someone coming the other way and planning on what to do in case. In most cases (not all) if you just make the corner and stay in your "lane" everyone's OK.

I'm pretty sure it was a one way track. Correct me if I'm wrong

Take a closer look there davek. Sure ELBEAU might have been able to be a little more to the right, but the other dude was in the middle/left side of his track (ELBEAU's right side) of the track. Not a whole lot could have been done.

I agree with your comments about fixation and stuff (that does happen,) but examine the video a little more before making the statement "you didn't make the corner and rode right into the guy...," but you're wrong on this one (assuming ELBEAU wasn't going the wrong way on a one way trail.)

Certainly if each had known the other was coming they could have moved over and made an easy pass. Blind corner, I don't see where anyone was in the wrong here.

That trail is like way wide... why would it be one way?

well.... because This happened. Or what if it were two quads.

That trail was obviously not wide enough. What if both bike had been running hard

The world would be a better place?

That trail is way wider than a lot of the trails around here. In fact the trail is too wide, if it were narrow and brushed in the riders would have to slow down. Slower speeds = more time to react. Sh!t happens.... applying 'regulation' is not the answer.

I think you should have said ya'll were playing chicken to win over some girl...that would have at least made it seem like nobody was in the wrong. I'm glad no one was seriously injured tho

Its not "applying regulation" its working out a good safe system that creates more fun for all. Its my opinion that the track in that footage should be one way. We have a double black diamond trail down here that is one way and everyone loves it. You can ride as fast as you're comfortable with and the only thing to worry about is a animal crossing the path

there's definatly space there for two riders if they're slow enough... though, admitadly, at speed that is a one line corner.
