Found this bike on Craigslist (the owner may very well be on here, #900) and was thinking about it for either riding for a while and selling it, or doing something along the lines of what fear this does. Basically, "prettifying" it. Powdercoating, plastics + graphics, etc. How much could I expect to sell this for if I did that? Bike's in the Northeast (think Mototown, Ace, Walden, Diamondback)

If you made it all nice lookin' n such with graphics and pc'ing, you could probably get $3500.

That's a pretty good deal. The one advantage to bikes from the north east is they only get ridden for 7 months out of the year (for the most part). However, they see a lot more mud than some bikes.

just making sure I could sell it for that much, 'cause it doesn't look to shabby to begin with, maybe selling it for cheap at the end of the season?

I sold my this bike for 3500 to a buddy. I could have easily gotton 4500, an my buddy could sell that thing now for 4500 no problem. This is my 250f, my 450 that i sold for 3500 was the exact same except it had stock silver rims.

However, this is an 07. NE bikes are good bikes, they are not ridden much, an when they are ridden, they are not being rode for long distances like you find people doing out west(perhaps going on 100 mile rides everytime they ride(not saying its bad, itd be awesome to do!). Buy it, put graphics on it, find a cheap pipe off ebay or TT classifieds(i scored an fmf 4.1 with a megabomb for 200 off TT classifieds). then get the rims done an sell it. You'll find people will pay a lot more for things like that. Good winter project.

I might be able to do that in Washington, but just making sure they sell for the same here in NY.

If I do get it, though, we should both do 450s and see whose turns out nicer...could be a contest?

I can't even get a look at my 04' CRF450 with a $3000 or best offer on it......Local KTM dealer will not even talk any $$ on trade in.....

I would be careful right now....

You're trying to sell it at the end of the season, correct?

If so, you probably can't get that much for it. I was thinking of selling at the beginning of the season. Also, if you're talking about the one in your garage,

then I can understand why you may not be able to get 3000 for an almost bone-stock machine. Fearthis and I both know what his bikes look like and what they're selling for, and that's what I would do to it. Check out his garage to see what I mean.

All righty, got some information about the bike.

-bought brand new in 05 (original owner, that's always good)
-hasn't rode it much, got hurt the first season he had it
-valves done end of this year
-factory connection suspension, springs for 220lb
-ASV levers
-oversized front brake rotor
-O-ring chain and renthal sprockets 14/51
-power now
-quickshot
-fastway footpegs
-stainless steel oil filter
-forks recently rebuilt, fork seals, etc
-Hinson clutch cover
-new water pump, everything replaced
-Devals (sp?) and Works Connection rad braces
-gripper seat cover
-Xyience graphics (like yours fear this! :smirk: )
-stock pipe
-white bros air filter
-works performance skid plate and case saver
-fastway clutch holder down by engine

I can go take a look at it sometime this week at his body shop while he's out of town in Florida, take it for a test ride. How does it sound? Could I get over $3,000 for it with what I'm thinking of doing with it?

sounds like it has some nice parts. and if you had another 450 that was yours you could take some of those parts and put it on yours:thumbsup: sounds like a good deal man.
