Im such a proud papa :smirk:

I bought this XR50 new back in 2001 on the way home from my sons ultrasound. ( I even have pictures of his mom preggo with him sitting on the bike :) )
I wanted him to have his first bike from his birth year and then my dream is for us to teach his son/daughter ~my grandchild, to ride on this same bike.

Anyway, he just finally started riding it seriously so I took him to the Elsinore track last Friday. Next thing I knew, he's catching air!! He has maybe 1 hour of total seat time in this pic! I was nervous as hell, but also just a proud as could be

This was about 3 ' of air and he landed it like a pro ~ He will definately outride me in the near future

Ya, he started on a 50 quad and then a 90 Polaris which he still rides. It was hard getting him on the 2-wheeler since the quad was so easy and he was used to it.
It worked out though because he got used to throttle/brake control and paying attention his surroundings and to read the terrain before taking on balance in 'the squishy stuff' and shifting. Now he's ALL into the two wheeler

Being in Indiana, get a two stroke next while they still exist! You will be an old guy like me some day and be able to tell your kids about these funny sounding bikes that smoked alot but ripped like nothing else!! ;)

Congrats, He's looking good. I remember when my son did his first ride on a real track so I know how you feel and It is nerve racking the first time but you will get more comfortable as time goes on. My son is 15 and I don't give it a second thought. Enjoy these times as it goes by very fast.
