Time to remove your air box, install a pod filter and construct a "Powder Screen"
tent, make shift air box, or Outerskins.

Search for old posts from Frostbite. He has discussed the problems of riding in extreme cold in several posts. Yes, icing of the carb is possible.

I have the Twin Air Powerflo filter set up on my 426, and, honestly, it made no difference in performance. I picked it up because I broke the stock cage and needed a new one for a next day ride. The Powerflo kit was the only option that my local dealer had. The machined metal cage sure is sexy, though...
