Here are some photo's of my WR250R in X mode:
The secret to making this work was the front caliper, I had to buy a complete caliper from Yamaha from the X to be able to switch this around, good thing it was only $160. The wheels I got for $850 and they are brand new take off wheels. The last thing to get will be the X front fork guards, the brake line clamp is lower on the X guards and I suspect the seal savers I have will not take such a beating from them as they have from the R white guards which rub holes in the inside of the forks on my seal savers :( I love the fact I can swap the wheels out in under an hour including bleeding the front caliper. In the future I want to get another front brake line and master cylinder to make the swap easier. I am running the R 43T rear sprocket and this seems like a good set up for the street, the 42T from the X is a joke. I have a new 47T for the R. Just need to splice in the extra links to accomadate both sets of wheels.
Thought you might want to see my tool bag set up for the rear. The OEM tool holder is a bit small and I wanted to carry some real tools around. I bought the regular rear fender bag from Dirtbikegear.com and then added the Pelican Mini case which fits perfectly inside the rear bag. You could also buy the Pelican case and bolt that up to the rear fender as well, too bad the blue is not a better match for the Yamaha color. They have them in black as well. here are some pics:
Sure am glad I bought this bike! Lot of fun and now with the two sets of wheels, two bikes in one! :smirk: :ride:
