When replacing the fork seals, do you need to pull and clean the dampner or can you just do the seals?

Thanks.

You can just do the seals, you do not need to pull the damper rod. It is a fairly simple procedure, just take your time when disasembling and if you don't have a manual, use the other fork as a reference guide. While you have the forks off, get a set of seal savers.

Do I need to replace the slide metal and piston metal bushings, or can I get away with the seals only?

You shouldn't have to replace the bushings unless they are worn. Also, replace the dust seals and oil seals as a set.
