What are the easiest trails at Mammoth Bar? I'm a relative noob myself (a year in the dirt) and want to take another new rider up there to check it out but I don't want to end up freaking him or myself out by ending up on some gnarly hill-climb or overly technical trails. I'm just not really familiar with the place. Thanks for any suggestions.

For a new rider, go a little further up the road to Forest Hill. Mammoth bar is on the side of a hill. My wife is a novice rider and hated Mammoth Bar, but likes Forest Hill. Do loop 1, very easy and a little wider as quads and bikes both use the trail. We are new to the area and so far she had done loops 1, 2, 4 & 7. A few more hills on 2 & 7, but not too hard if you go slow. Loop 4 is very rocky and I don't recomend for a novice.

stay clear of MB, there are like only 3 wide easier trails, but they are climbs with some rocky areas and too many ricky racers go too fast and your chances of head-ons are high, plus it is a real small place and you will have to go up some climbs mo matter what.
GO to LOOPs 1 and 7 at Foresthill.

Thanks for the input, guys. I've been up to MB only once but was alone and only had an hour to ride. On that occasion, I ended up going up a trail with what seemed to be a long steep climb (Hoosier...or something like that), stalled and fell over a few times and generally wore myself out. I didn't get a chance to ride the rest, but if that's largely what it's like, I'll try another place. Thanks for the tip on the FH trails. I've been meaning to get up there, so maybe this will be the perfect excuse to try it out!

Thanks for the FH suggestion! Went up there yesterday for a couple of hours and had an awesome time. Loop 1 was a perfect introduction. The conditions were perfect - virtually nobody else there, 63 degrees, nice packed soil. I can't wait until I can get a whole day free to ride up there.
