Someday maybe the pro OHV groups will get out of bed with them., until then any money you donate just goes to help the BLM close close close. How many of you have donated to the TWO biggest pro OHV groups??? Now do you really think you have helped?? NO friggen way. All you have done is help ENFORCE and CLOSE.

Couldn't agree more. What they don't realize is that they are creating a whole society of lawbreakers that is going to make it hell for them to enforce the insanity. Until the "PRO" ohv orginizations grow some brass ones and start suing for anything and everything, we'll have a lot more of the same.....

Supersize that please........

I have no problem with the fees for cal city, the city really needs the money and the city also made a trail INTO town for the businesses, Im all about supporting a city that caters to off-roaders, Randsburg on the other hand seems to hate OHVers (or at least the vocal residents)

The shop owners that I know PERSONALLY like the OHV users.

Don't forget the $1000.00 fine for not having the signed map on your person. I think it's a good thing....may keep the Quads from destroying the area. I get very angry when I see kids on quads destroying the terraine, bushes, etc. and the parents never saying a word...most times there isn't even an adult around.

It's the riders that are abusing the land that causes closures.

Bullshit.

the mining companies, the loggers, etc they abuse the land.......but its OK for them. A dirt bike does nothing compared to these other things. A year or less and some rain wipe clean almost all of a dirt bikes footprint.

Im not talking about the shop owners really, Im referring more so to the older residents that stand outside on holiday weekends yelling and shaking their heads at all the riders going by.

This sucks. Took my wife to Randsburg for the first time last year. She loved it. looks like it may be the last. This is too bad.

Looks like Randsburg will be going back to being a ghost town, that's a bummer.

I emailed mr Razo using the link at the beginning of this thread. I expressed my feelings about the "fee for the fee" and how LPNF adventure pass was and is a similar waste of $. The fee pays mostly to enforce the fee not any improvements!

Its funny how they are going down the same path the RIAA did with the music industry. They had a chance with napster to control the online market, yet they didn't like the pay out it would have given them so they chased off everyone with lawsuits. Now their are hundreds of programs and networks to download music and they don't stand a chance of stopping it. They forced everyone into outlaws.

I see the offroad fees as a way to force us into outlaws. This will mean riding anywhere and every where we can since were pretty much violating somones rules:foul:

I for one will be polishing my skillset by racing so that when its time to run they don't stand a chance:busted: I for one will not be paying anymore fees, but will continue to ride in these areas and take my chances:p

Its funny how they try to make these fees sound ok, by "Your getting trails opened" but you just have to pay for them now:foul: If we keep letting them nickel and dime us here and there its going to cost a fortune to ride eventually:foul:

This fee pisses me off. It very seldom happens and I'm glad that R5 and R50 were reopened but they sure as hell dont justify a fee to ride in the Randsburg Mts. Where does the BLM get their money from again......:moon: Now I'm no lawyer and don't quite understand all of the laws regarding land like I should but how can the BLM charge us to ride without some kind of vote or something.

r1rider871, I hope you don't get a bunch of bad gas for your opinion. I agree with you and posted something similiar a while back, it was not well received.
It's too bad the direction our sport is heading. I am in my late 40's, so I am getting close to the end of my hardcore desert riding stage of life, so in some way's I don't really care about new regulations. I will ride as an outlaw if need be, don't have much to lose.
I do feel bad about younger riders and the fact that most likely they won't be able to experience the fun and freedom of riding the desert without a bunch of hassles.
Is it too late to change what is happening? Even though there are organizations trying to preserve what we still have left, it feels like it's a lost cause, I really hope I am wrong on that.

I agree, seems some kind of vote should be needed to charge us above and beyond our current fees.

Well I would hope that everyone on this board can understand we all have our own opinions. I certainly value everyone's and even the ones fighting through the red tape and going to the meetings. In the end we all want the same thing and that's a place to ride. If I get bad gas then so be it. That would just be someone trying to force their opinion on me by giving bad gas and that's not cool as I am respecting their opinion. We might not agree along the same lines, but we can all still respect each other:thumbsup:

I also have a son and want him to be able to ride in all these places. Its sad its coming to this and I certainly don't want to teach him to disobey the rules, but their does come a time when enough is enough and you have to do what you have to do to ride:thumbsup:

r1rider,I gave you good gas !!!

And fees like this are why I won't go to Glamis or Cal City anymore. And now Randsburg too.

It's bad enought they doubled the Green sticker fees , but there's not much we can do about DMV

Another area of big concern is Johnson Valley. If you havent ridden out there you need to check it out and help keep it around. Come out to the fun ride, I'll be there!

I agree but with Cal City they have given us something worthwhile in return, a way into town, 150 gallons of water a day and free dumps. What has BLM given us?

I agree too. The riding area of Cal City is just that, it's their city and they can do with it whatever they want in the city limits. Randsburg Mts on the other hand is ours, correct me if I'm wrong someone.

I think all fees suck unless you are paying to ride on private property. It's all about mis-management of tax dollars and OHV funds. Too many head honchos to blame there.

Ok, To try to interpret why the BLM is required to do what they are doing in the Rands
(And I seem to have all the time in the world to dig this stuff up for you guys)

Here is a picture of on of many books West Mojave Plan (WEMO)
Its about the size of a big city telephone book...Remember those?

Posted Image

When the stakeholders all came together and put this plan together, From OHV people
to turtle huggers to flower people, This little snippet of language was put into the WEMO plan.

It got by the people who were working on the plan at the time.(I was not actively in the process at this time)

This is why its so important to get involved with current forest plans and ones like Red Rock, stuff like this
somehow gets snuck in.

Read here from the book pictured, Scanned directly from

Posted Image

As you can see its pretty much law, Not a management decision by BLM or volunteers
like myself. Its law, BLM has to enforce it... no matter how you look at it... or what agency
you like to slam, its there in the WEMO plan and it will not change. No matter how much
we piss and moan

Lawsuits also will not do a dam thing, The only way to change it is to amend the WEMO plan
or find a lawmaker that has the time to look at it, both options are pretty slim.

If the plan is not followed, CBD comes along and sues BLM on the grounds they are
not following the plan. We lose the entire RMMA... Bottom line.
