I sure do! Was ready to burn this baby to the ground. I spent more time kicking this bike over than I did riding it.....

So, I sold the bike nearly a week after and 2 weeks later got this baby!!
Sadley she's been sitting in the garage for nearly 2 years with out seeing a trail! Cant wait to get out and ride her again...

The whole reason for this post is to find another digital image for this one below. I lost the digital image to this one of us at the ghost town. I had a 5x7 that I scanned. Who might have a good digital jpg. image or maybe the origianal they could pass on?
Slyko, OldDude, Blue one, Peak. kx, Skipper? I'd love to get another???

Even with all the trouble I had just trying to restart that damn YZ426, still one of the best weekends of riding I've ever had!

I remember it too, but it was February 05, not October 04. It was my first time ever to Clear Creek, and my first ride after putting the HT Racing 350 Big Bore kit on my KTM 250 4-Stroke. If I remember right there were 16 of us TTers, and we rode the whole place over the weekend.

I don't have the picture you asked about, but I do have that last one, and a few others.

Best memories of that weekend:

  • The TT crew, what a great group!
  • The conditions, about as good as Clear Creek can get, and the best I've ever ridden there! :worthy:
  • Riding some of the event only trails from that year's Quicksilver National that was the weekend before. :ride:
  • WileE1 kicking that YZ. We went down one trail that dead ended on us and WileE1 stalled about half way out, he was still kicking when we got back after turning around.
  • Slyko getting passed by a fat chick on a quad!
  • Listening to Slyko go on about how he was going to start racing Enduros ..... at least until we started down one of the Quicksilver trails where he said "If this is an Enduro trail then F**K THAT!"
  • Driving up there and back with BigBob, and staying in PeakRider's MoHo while we were there. It doesn't get much better than that!

clear creek is closed. Seasonal closures are coming to FH and EF.

If any one ever wants to do a big TT group ride again, it will have to be at either Moonrocks or Stonyford.

I'm in.

Last year on Jan 24th Moonrocks was snowed in. We arrived Pres weekend to 19degree temps and frozen sand. Woke up in the morning to 60 degree temps sun and melted sand/mud. Had to move camp. That sucked, but I'd do it again.

Fond Memories. :ride:

Back in my XR400 days. I loved that bike! Too bad & Thank God!

Riding with The Blue One when everyone was stopped at that steep down section and he didn't hesitate. He just went for it.

Getting stuck on a hill and Mini-Me with his little 250 just motoring on by! :banghead:

The Hill of Death was that ride too.

Peak stacking up those 2x4's to level his motor home.

I think that's the weekend BigBob slept with a wet boomer.

I remember WileE1 kicking and kicking that beast. He was sweating!!!!!! I was thinking, shoulda bought a Honda.

Now how many of those guys still ride? I was such a newbie, see the glasses. I used to wear my glasses. :p & clean, I was so clean. I don't think that fat chic was even wearing a helmet.

I'm in the mood for a rebel ride. Time to ride a "closed" section.

I'd give just about anything to go for a ride right now. Unfortunately I shattered the tibia in my left leg on Fathers Day racing motocross. I'm just now learning how to walk again.......Moto has consumed me over the past couple of years... Litteraly....Twice I have broke my leg now plus a busted collarbone. I think it's time to park to YZ for a while, get the KTM fired up and hit the trails.....Soon!

Damn 4 strokes...As I would later learn, a valve adjustment and the right jet specs... Problem solved!

I don't think I've ridden with any of you guys since then. That fall I bought a CR500 and didn't ride the XR again until this April. That ride was a lot of fun, but a bit of a bummer at the same time. My bike was way down on power that day, it turned out it had a sticking exhaust valve. I was struggling to make it up stuff it would normally motor up okay.

Could do a " where are they now" . I hear Oldedude grew up to become an Enduro Champion. BB got Married and evaporated. SS went on to be passed by every pine cone in the sierras ,as they ran from having him fall on them.

TT fell into a time know as the Dark Ages where the south ruled .

Passing & getting passed is fun! Keeps it entertaining on the trails. :ride:

It's that hitting trees at speed that hurts. I'm still soar from that nasty collision. :bonk:

I agree BB's idea of an epic ride is worthwhile. Stonyford or Moonrocks would be great. Better sooner rather than later.

Time to return to form Skipper. Let's do it :D
