hi, i just picked up a very low hour (less than 1) yz450 :worthy: .
i was at a track buying it. a couple guys came over, who also own 07 yz's. it was suggested that i raise the forks 5mm in the clamps immediately.
i was going thru the manual and saw that 0mm was the standard.
anyone else running their forks somewhere other than 0? how does it effect the handling. i assume it makes it steer a little quicker? how about headshake?
i should metion too, these guys are very experienced experts....

i can say this with good confidence that im right.. that almost everyone who rides a track has their forks raised in their clamps.. it was the first thing i did when i started riding tracks.
headshake is little to none. and it does help keep the front end planted in the corners.

most people (like me run them at the first line which is about 5mm) but alot like a bit more and go 10mm.

off topic.. where in cali are u from?

forks raised, and rear wheel set as far back as far as your chain allows.

I raise my forks to the 1st line.

also make sure you get the race sag set and your clickers done to your style of riding.

if your front wheel is true then headshake shouldn't be a problem.
