There is a critical Desert Advisory Council meeting this weekend. Here are the details. Please attend if you can. Recreationists need our help.

"The Desert Advisory Council meeting is this Friday and Saturday, June 28th and 29th. Usually the Friday meetings are not open to the public and are instead devoted to a DAC member tour of the current "hot spot" but this time since there are so many issues to discuss and new council members have been nominated and the old Desert District Manager was ousted, they decided to devote both days to the public. Attending one or the other days would be just fine and dandy, both days would be (grueling) great.

This meeting is especially important for the recreational community show their numbers because the interim Desert District Manager seems to be following in the bootsteps of her predecessor, which is infortunate for us.

The meeting(s) begin at 8:00 a.m. (egad) and run until 4:00 p.m. They are being held at Barstow Community College in Barstow. I think there are several people coming from the San Diego area and often times carpools are offered for those that are going up just for the day."

Please consider attending one of these meetings. It sounds as though this could influence the outcome of our land use battles for some time to come.
Tell a friend. Pass this along to everyone you know. Thanks for helping our sport!

By the way, it is expected to be, shall we say, a high-spirited meeting!!!
Might be fun.
