It started off as a great day. I L.O.V.E. this bike!!! I makes me feel so confident that I am tackling stuff sooner than I thought. I had 2 friends ride it one has a YZ426 and he like the bike but thought it was slow on a take off compared to his??? I still don't know what he was smoking. He said his was like a F-16 and rocket off faster and my 450 was like a 747 was slow on take off but then kicked in. I can't wait to get the take offs dialed in and smoke him but then he'll say he heavier and that's my. My 2nd buddy who has a CR500, could barely start it and kept killing it. He also felt the same way as my 1st friend!!! It was all good though when we got out on the track I smoked them.
They had stopped riding and I was playing with a series of 3 jumps. I finally got a 3 down and went to put it together. Hit the 1st and something seemed a little off, I over jumped a LITTLE bit but no big deal. As I approach the 2nd I hit it and went WAAAYYY up (yep, I was in 4th and should have been in 3rd) over jump it by about 18ft and flatland from about 20ft. Coasted over to them to catch my breath and both ankles are stinging, wrist hurt a little but not bad, bike is a-ok. So as I began to take off I go to kick it...ouch! I go to put my foot down and I feel the bones rub together...ouch! Ok, time to go to the hospital. Result compression facture to the tibbula. 8 weeks til I can walk again, 12 weeks til I can ride. Oh well, I take the good with the bad, but dang I love this bike :)

Sounds like you found out the hard way the worst thing about a CRF450. It's sooooo easy to overjump stuff. They are so smooth it doesn't feel like you are going fast.

Good luck with the mending.
