i know this recall thread seems like b/s but who are the too many riders that are receiving their wr450's ? where are all the ride reports and info etc. someone here claims to have received one but then go on to say he did'nt even ride it because he was taking the bike to an aftermarket guy right away . huh ? i don't get it . have you ever heard the term "your cheque's in the mail" . yamaha's doing a pretty poor pr job on this one .

My dealer knows I may be out of town when my bike comes in. He said I could come in and get all the paperwork and finances completed, and my friend could pick it up for me. I have had MONTHS of reviewing the dealers computer screen that basically showed delivery in DEC, JAN, ?. Now the screen shows released for shipment to this dealer. I don't think Yamaha has a hacker imputing these codes to get our hopes up. I believe ALL of those who have said they have a bike headed their way within the next day or 2 weeks. For those of you who don't believe, I don't think we can convince you without putting it in your garage. (Not gonna happen)

Mole1,

I know the dealer I ordered mine through received theirs on the 8th and delivered it on the 9th. I know that because it was supposed to be mine but the owner put his buddy on the list ahead of me (see this post: First WR's arrived yesterday... The other Yami dealer in town is receiving their first WR's today. When Jim-in-so-ore says he got his, I believe him (would like to see some photos though...) Anyway, try to stay optimistic (and patient) and they will be here soon.

When dealers ordered bikes back in July(I think)at the Yamaha dealer show. They got to pick their delivery dates,January btw was the first available del. date for the WR 450. They don't just order these things and wonder when they will get them. If your dealer put March on his order that is when he will get them.

Thats not true! My dealer did not know when he would be getting a WR. He first thought it would be end of Nov. or Dec., then Jan, and now he has checked and says March. He tells me the truth as he knows it. I'v been dealing with him for 25 years and trust him. He did go to the show in July in Vegas, btw.

Somethings up! MotoRod in Tennessee and I have the same Yamaha Factory Rep and we are getting the same story from our dealers. Maybe he is the only honest rep, as us Southerners can't tell a lie. My dealer said again today, "We won't get a WR450F until March, at the earliest". The story is some bikes were shipped before "production hold". Some dealers may get a few bikes, but most won't arrive till March. Its funny to hear how everybodies WR is "on the way", but no-one has one..... For me, I'm glad there was a delay! It gave me time to think about what bike is best for deep woods riding, and I don't believe it is the WR450F... It will weigh over 285 lbs with gas. An XR400R only weighs 257 lbs, and has a great low end. If I didn't already have 2 XR's I would buy the XR400, but I want something a little different.... For me, its gonna be an Enduro converted 03, YZ250F.. I will pick it up Saturday...

Southerners can't tell a lie? So I guess Bill Klinton is from Wyoming!!

I will give you credit for sticking to your story though. ?

While your at it Troll check the other threads. I count three birds in hand.

You do not know what you are talking about. They WR450F will weigh 268 with gas. How do you take a 245lb bike and add 40lbs of gas. Duh!!!

That's what I'm talking about. This guy starts a minor uproar over a bike he never intended to get in the first place. Troll.
