Was the crf 250 still in an unfinished stage. Fake seat, no guts in motor? This is what I had heard from the showing of it at other shows.

The CR250X was a complete bike on a short pedestal. You could touch the bike but not sit on it it was roped off, It had the magic button. It is a real trick bike. The only thing visually I didn't like was the odo cable seemed to stick out and looked like it could be easily torn off, which is what you probably would do and put an electric time keeping device on it. Otherwise it is absolutely beautiful.Looks like it has a real short stroke and their new designed cylinder head. Honda quality.

Hey guys come to think of it the 450X wasn't there, but the other bikes I listed were. I think I had too many $5.00 beers in me. Johnny Campbell's bike was there HUGE lighting on the front. Carmichaels bike was there,it even had the decals on the hubs. GasGas had there bikes there: Pampera, two Trials bikes, their 400 four stroke FI, which the guy told me will be a 450 soon in production and two other two smokes. They had a GasGas trials exhibit that dude ripped!

As I mentioned in a different post, the CRF250R and CRF250X where at the Denver show. I didn't write it up since the bikes were more like concept cars than production models. The seats on both were hard plastic painted black and red (but chipping), the kickstarter, clutch and shifter were not connected to anything internal and the odometer on the 250X was not really connected to anything at the hub. It was fun to see them, but they weren't the real thing.
They also had one of RC's CR250R Supercross bikes and the famous XR650 Baja bike. The XR650 was still covered with dirt and looked exactly like the bike on the cover of the January issue of Dirt Bike .
I'm sure that the NY show had the exact same bikes. Yes, the CRF250s looked great, just like the official pictures Honda has released, but they were not ready to ride. Every other bike there was real so I can't explain why the 250s were not. Honda also had their new, and very cute, Ruckus scooter there. Twin headlights, very industrial looking design--the perfect bike for the motorhome bumper! Honda also had the upcoming Valkyrie Rune, which is one sweet looking custom street bike! See their web site for pictures of both. I don't work for Honda, I just liked the bikes!
Yamaha had production WR250Fs and WR450Fs that you could sit on and heft, unlike the CRF250s which were either roped off or on pedestals. The Yamahas looked good, but are sure tall!
At the Denver show there were no factory people, just the local dealer employees. I'm sure that's the way it was in NY. This means you couldn't get any more information than what the local guys knew.

THE BIG QUESTION........ DID THE 450 HAVE THE MAGIC BUTTON?
When and if the CRF450X comes out is is supposed to E-start, Odometer, lighting, kickstand, and tranny ratios more suited to trail riding. There have also been discussions about a exhaust option in which it would pass the sound tests in California straight off the show room floor (similar to what KTM is doing right now, with for example their 450: Green Sticker & Sound complient straight off the showroom floor). Don't quote me on this, it's what I have "heard".

Yes the CRF250x and the CRf250r were there, plastic seat and all, but still cool to look at.
Anybody with broadband that wants some pictures let me know your e-mail address and I'll send you some.
It also had an overflow tank behind the number plate opposite the muffler. I also got pics of Nicky Haydens CRF450.
