canadian crf's taxes

for those of you that picked up your bikes in canada rather than having them shipped to you, approximately how long did it take the canadian government to reimburse the taxes?

The shop set it up as a tax free export, didnt have to pay any taxes, wont be getting any back. Never heard of anyone having to pay canadian taxes. Interesting.
