Went out riding with a few friends this morning, and about 5 miles into the ride, my bike quit running.
the temp was around 30 degrees and we were out riding at about 4000 feet above sea level. I was coming to a stop to let the group catch up to me, when I pulled in the clutch to stop, the motor quit, like it does when you hit the kill switch. It didnt make any noises or popping or anything. I tried and tried to restart it, but I noticed that there was no compression at all.

Has any one else had this happen to their bike?
I think it might be a stuck valve or something like that.....

Test the stator continuity as shown in the manual. ("CDI magneto inspection", page 6-5)

would that cause a loss in compression?

No it wouldn't. I missed that part. Doing too many things at once.

In that case, I would advise checking the cam timing. You might have seized an intake cam, or had a faulty chain or tensioner.
