Hello i have just sold my yz450 2006 and are looking on a new 2008 or 2009 yz250f

but i read that the -09 has a bigger axel diameter, is that true, has anyone converted the older yamaha wheels to fit on a -09, or is it not worth it.

i have now kept my wheels with -06 Talon hubs, i am thinkin about changing the bearings ones bigger diameter, anyone tried it??

I can tell you that it is true that the '09 has a larger rear axle. Check with a specialty bearing supplier to see if bearings may be available in the correct sizes.
