it was like christmas all over again when the ups guy rolled up today. he stepped out of his truck sporting those wonderful brown shorts and carrying a long narrow box. i almost wet myself. i've been waiting for this day for too long. i tore into the box like rosie o'donnel ripping into a box of twinkies. through the newspaper packing i glimpsed freshly welded metal. gently i lifted the hand crafted masterpiece from the box. oh yes, yes that's it! i almost decided to hang it on the wall. but i came to my senses, and threw it on the CRF instead. anyway, bob delivered it with the spark arrestor core installed (sent the straight through core too) so we could hit the trails this weekend. i'll post a report after i spend some time with it.
gotta love those new toys!

bob put my name on the list on dec. 9th or so. after all the holiday mayhem, i received it this past monday (jan 6th). i ordered a spark arrestor with mine, and he had to wait on a batch to be delivered. normally, it takes around 2 weeks. i'll give it a test this weekend. bob's a great guy though. he'll answer any questions you have over the phone. call 'em up!

Dude, I'm dying to know how this thing runs with and without the S/A. Seems like no one has commented on the S/A version. I would love to know if the power is killed off with it!!! Get out in the yard and go test that thing!!!!! :)

well, i did just that when i installed it. reason i didn't mention that is because that ride didn't really test the TA properly. however, what i noticed on the little blip around the block was that there was not much difference from stock. i don't know. it stood right up like always. certainly no less power! maybe more down low. this was with the SA in. but like i said, that was not in the dirt in a real test situation. not too aweful loud with the SA in either. but man, it sounds beautiful with the straight thru core!

Thanks for the "round the block test" info. Have you rejetted yet? You mentioned it was sweet with out the SA, what about with? Does it sound like all choked up and wimpy?

doesn't sound wimpy, that's for sure. it's got the turbine core-type instead of the screen. it sounds good with the SA in, but you can tell it's not a straight through pipe. you get on the gas, and it sounds pretty rippin'. just not as rippin' as without the SA. :)
by the way, i haven't touched the jets yet.

man, this pipe rips!!! i haven't even had time to rejet, but i took it out today on the trails here, and it stretched my arms a few inches! (this is without the SA in). great low end pull. heck, it's almost too much! (if that's truly possible). really impressed so far. need to hit a real track though. it's dusty and dry (slick) in most of this area, so it's not the best test environment.

TA is the pipe of choice if you want low end power....!

Another satisfied user...come to think of it, I have not found many people that got a TA and were disappointed.... :) Glad you like it....

hey, thanks for all the info you've posted rap! it really surprised me how strong it comes on! can't tell much of a difference up top. but i really don't need much difference on top. i will definitely play with jetting though. how is your off idle throttle response? i know you've tried most jetting combinations.

Off idle response for me is great...no bogging at all, and crisp. I left the jetting back to stock, but I did go 1/4 richer on the fuel screw...that's all it took.

At the suggestion of a tuner on TT here, I am probably going to try going a bit richer on the main and dropping the needle one clip position. I found that going to the richer main actually killed the low end power @3000rpm-4000rpm...and top end was not improved.

But staying a bit richer and tuning out the low and mid with the needle position may provide a bit better midrange...I will keep you guys informed for sure...but for now I am running stock jetting, air filter screen removed, and it runs GREAT. Fast enough to give me holeshots and I am no lightweight! (226lbs and 6'3")
