The annual GMB Memorial ride is taking place this weekend in Texas and I really wish I could be there this year.  Mike Berg and his family, the Band of Brothers and the extended family that participates in this tribute every year are some of the greatest people on this planet.  For all the work they do to help others in our chosen sport - I salute you! :lame:

Have fun down there at Splendora MX, ride safe and please share the pics and race reports!!  I'll be with you in spirit and in my own way here in Colorado will be joining you as we pay honor and tribute to our fellow riders who are roostin' upstairs on the big track.   To Garrett "MotoMan393" and the many others who have passed, we wish you Godspeed.  May you Rest In Peace.

Well put. :lame:

I wasn't able to make it this year too however, in spirit I'm there. I plan on calling Mike Berg tomorrow morning while he's on the way up to Splendora. For him, that drive is one of the most difficult to do each year. But you'll never keep that MAN away from any GMB.

Mike... Your whole family as well as those who are taking part in this years GMB are being lifted up in prayer.

Bruce & Boyd,

THANKS so much for the well wishes.  This years event was a bit smaller than some, but I believe it was related to the closeness to hurricane Ike.  Houston and the surrounding area recoverd rather quickly, but we still have a long way to go.  We have received much support from many good people.

I appreciate the continued support from RIDERDOWN Organization with the Garrett Berg "Remembering Those Who Rode Memorial Race/Ride."   David and Jason Wysong and Erik Shea and his family were there in full force.  Many thanks!

This years event was special in many ways and we had some super fast riders and thankfully minimal injuries.  The track was in excellent shape and I believed we accomplished the objective of "Remembering Those Who Rode" and forward to help position ourselves so we can continue to help "riders" and their families that may need it.

The TT/ATM Race is always an incredible event.  This year Matt Sandt [Garrett's best friend] rode the 393 Bike for the first time since Garrett died. Matt was with me and my daughter the day Garrett crashed and died.  Matt has been serving our country in the United States Marine Corp. and thankfully lived through two combat tours from hell. He is now in the reserves.

For me, it was very special to see made ride Garrett's bike - it reminded me of someone very special in my heart.  I don't think Matt was riding alone!  His eyes and the smile will never be forgotten.

I am very GRATEFUL for the support of Riderdown and Thumpertalk for helping to support this annual event that "Remembers Those Who Rode."

I look forward to seeing you all again - when our trails cross in this road of life!

Sincerely,
Mike Berg
"Motodad393"
