Cracked Sub-Frame

I have a 97 XR600R, the sub frame running from the swingarm up to the rear portion of the seat support has
a crack (chain side) running 3/4 of the way around it. The previous owner had passenger foot peg brackets welded on
and the crack starts at one of the welds. Does anybody have experience or suggestions on the best way to
repair this problem? Would re-welding it work? A replacement frame is not in the works at this time.

A good welder can probably fix you right up and you'll be almost as good as new. Once its rewelded, it will be plenty strong again :)
