Well a while ago I ran my xl low on oil. It has a leak but I failed to check the level one day and rode it and when I got home I checked the level and it did not register on the dipstick. Well I topped it off with oil and all seemed fine. however I have been warned that low oil level will wipe out the head and cam. Last night I rode it (I checked the oil first and it was full) and on my way home it was fine at low rpm but when I gave it some gas it seemed to hesitate quite a bit ( never did this before). well when I got home there was an excessive amount of oil on the head and it was really cooked real bad. I hope all is well but I fear the worst is ahead of me on this bike and I will be pulling the motor for a rebuild. Anyone have a head with a cam to sell?
