The trans and engine oil are one and the same.

I think the shop manual calls for 10W30 motor oil

I use the yamaha 10w50 or even the V-Twin motor oil.

I think the shop manual calls for 10W30 motor oil

It also calls for other grades, ranging to 20w-50, depending on temperature. *w-40 is good for most people most of the time.
