Fork seal replacement?

pitting is caused by damage to the chrome plate, and then it goes rusty and wrecks your seal!


Black rubber boots probably wouldn't have prevented it


Use a bit of #1000 wet & dry paper and smooth down any sharpness from the rust pit.

this is usually enough to stop it tearing up the seal and causing it to leak

Usually the chrome gets scratched and the seal leaks. Once you get the scratches out and new seals in they make a neoprene protector that may save the next set of seals.
