1) No hang-ups..a heatgun works wonders to curve plastic.

2) If you use the 450F shrouds, you only need to make the two lower
backets. Cut out of 1/8" Aluminum.

Hmmmm. Well, you see, I'm not exactly a machinist so if anyone has templates that I can take somewhere or can fabricate me a set, I'd be willing to pay them for their time

I love the look.... Can anyone help a brother out?

The Seat is an SDG tall that I shaved down for the step. Bike is a 03. Couple pics of the 450 shroud brackets - note that you will have to heat and bend or shave off the lower portion of the plastic rad guard for best fit. Someone else made the brackets for me. Hope that helps.

damn, your bike looks sweet! you know, I am not satiesfied with mine because I received the wrong colour (black-green instead of green-black) but still waiting for the 2009 shrouds and side panels...

seems some guys out there want brackets?
I can make them, but it will take me lots of time and isn't cheap. Concep29 knows it :p

if you are interested, send me a pm.

well, the reason I don't post it yet is that every request I received was about making the brackets. if you are able to mill them I think it's no problem to  make a metal sheet sample within a few minutes. for me it takes more time to show a plan here, but lets see what I can do...

@concep29:
are your plastics genuine green (I guess) or flo green, they look really vibrant, nice!!

note: I think you can't see my pics no more, that's because I modified my provider contract. then they killed my homepage...

Hey Kawamaha, the shrouds I used are oem, off my 07 450. Oem plastic looks good and is hard to beat.

My advice to those who want brackets: hire Kawamaha to build you a set, (as I did)  or spend some time and build them yourself! There are many pictures of the brackets posted. My bike was a frame up build and I didn't have time do it all myself.

Heres a pic of my prototype brackets,  I created them from some scrap Toyota 4x4 fuel line,  compresed the ends with a vise and drilled a couple of holes.

Cheap and easy.  note they are prototypes but ???  who knows no one is going see them :)

####  UPDATE BELOW contains sizing  ###
shroud bracket update:

the Toyota fuel line for a 1990 pickup 4x4 4cyl
cut 60mm of line off per side
in a bench vise (I used a wood vise as it is smoother) squeeze 20mm either side flat
bend 1 flat up to a 60 degree angle
line bracket up on the bike and make note of the angle the shroud attaches.

you will need to make a twist of aprx 75 degrees to make the bracket and shroud sit flush.
to do this I placed the bracket in a vise and twisted the other side wih an adjustable wrench.
mark holes and drill.

this is the project so far.
thanks for the 450 shroud tip:)

I am also putting the KX450F tripple clamps on,  the top clamp is off for machining as they are smaller on the 450

I am thinking about putting 450 shrouds on my 05 kx250. If i do that and buy a graphics kit for the 450 does anyone know how the fender graphics will turn out? I believe the 450's are more rounded correct?
