can someone please help me clear this up once and for all? I did a search and everything leads me to believe that the 04' wr is a 48mm but I looked for seals and the seals are listed for 03' and 04' being the same size(46mm), what gives? this all started because I bought some triple clamps for an 03' 04' wr 450 so that i can put them on my 03'yz250 2 stroke which has 46mm forks. I got a killer deal on some brand new triple clamps and now i don't know if i will be able to use them, someone please shed some light on this, thanks....

I am reasonably sure that 2005 was the first year that they put the 48mm forks on the wr's.

I know that the 04' yz450 has 48mm but as far as the 04' wr I'm just not sure. any 04' wr owners care to put in their two cents?

'03 and '04 WRFs had definitely 46mm forks.
The '05 models had for the first time 48mm forks. (don't confuse the '04 YZFs that got first 48mm forks).

correct,03-04 wr forks are the same as 03 yz forks 46mm except for the wr's used a shorter spring and softer shimstacks:thumbsup:
