For Jason, it is a beautiful ride. Just did it a few weeks ago. I would be on this ride but I managed to break a foot getting it caught between the peg and a tree root sticking out of a hill side, but I digress.
Just a couple of thoughts if you are in question about your skills. Almost every ride is capable for a new rider with a couple caveats. It is a great idea to understand the skill level and expectations of the folks you ride with. A new rider can be very successful if they listen to good advice from more experienced riders, but you have to have the confidence/balance/clutch down pat on your ride to carry out some of the maneuvers.
I am recently returning to dirt after 15 years. So a relatively new rider. I am very fortunate to have a couple of very good riders as friends that I trust without question. They are great for advice. Their advice got me through every hard part there including a rock climb to some spot called Ravens Roost(?), brutal climb. I was left with (after my foot heals enough to get my boot back on) with a few things I am going to work on. Unloading the front and rear wheels as needed, clutch not throttle. Balance, riding on 2x4s laid flat without watching my front wheel and tight figure eights slow and fast. Everything should be done comfortably standing on the pegs. When in doubt, twist the grip instead of hitting the brakes.
I can’t wait to get back up there and practice what I learned last time. That is awesome scenery and terrain.
Sorry for the hijack.
