I was just curious as to what trails are availiable to ride in the Gifford pinchot NF. With this fire and everything that is burning by Mt Adams and all the snow still in the higher elevations, who knows what's open. Anybody been to Blue Lake yet? Was planning on riding on Saturday up there, but from what I've heard (very little) it doesn't sound to good. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Right now we still have snow drifts above the 4K mark. It will be a late riding year to enjoy full access. I plan on doing all my GP fun riding in Sept. A TT GP ride in Sept sounds in order;)

Did a work party on the lower trails last weekend on the south end trails. Everything above about 3500 is a dead end into snow  Going to be a bit until we can clear the rest. Best bet is Valley trail but i personally would not drive to Gifford for that. No real loops to be had right now.

Do you know if the Blue Lake Trail is open from the Blue Lake ORV trail head? And can you easily get there from Randal. I've never been there, but we are planning a trip there next week. Two adult riders and Two Kids (novice, not beginners but novice). If anyone has recommendations that would be cool. jb
