But atleast you were able to donate your gas cap to my cause :ride:

I found a stump too Wiz but it took aim at my right foot... little sucker was hiding in the pucker brush on some of the sweet hill side trails we had a lot of... (honestly, those trails were nice:thumbsup:) Any way I have 5 very purple / black little piggy's today and cannot find a shoe that fits.

I managed a second place in my class which I feel very good about, after counting up how many times I crashed, and not just "Little crashes" these were full on "Wow, I can't believe I'm still walking" kinda crashes.

What killed me was during the third test I got stung by a bee in the throat, and while I was in a tizzy over that I managed to shoot off the trail and down the bank... took a good 10 - 15 minutes to get my bike back up on the trail. Thanks to everyone that slowed down and asked if I was alright, given it was a test section I did not expect or want anyone to stop and help even though some of you offered ;)

Props to CFMC, especially Roscoe for putting on a great event that took massive amounts of man power from what I could see. That was a gnarly race.

I have one vent though - As I came into the gas stop, in the park near the MX track, I noticed two guys using my gas  I rolled up and said "hey thats my gas"... they were apologetic and asked if they could just get a little as all of their gas had already been poached .. there was plenty so I said "sure". I find out later from a couple kids in the parking lot that all of their gas was poached too and they actually ended up running out on the trail.. SO - To those of you that show up to 80+ mile race that clearly states on the flier "bring 2 cans" and you don't and decide it's alright to use other people's gas... JUST STAY HOME NEXT TIME :p

I can't believe how many times you went down and got up like it was nothing...dude you flew through the air one time and I just wanted to close my eyes so I wouldn't see what was going to happen. .and then you just get up and run to your bike:worthy:

Hummmmm.... wonder who that may have been. :ride: Rode up there this morning to decommission that trail and what did I find at the bottom, but the front half of a Mount Baker motorsports sponsored KTM front fender. I left it as a warning for next time we use that hill. :p

By the way I just wanted to say good job to everyone who finished the event. I know it was tough, you all should be proud of yourselves. Everyone says Capitol is an easy place to ride. Well that all depends on what route you take and if its wet or not.

Roscoe

Roscoe you da man:worthy: great event and wow what a course you put on...love the down hills and the way you used the moto track...top notch:thumbsup: Nice job to you guys and gals that put that one on:applause: ;)

Thanks CFMC for putting on this event! I had a blast and enjoyed it....It was my first ISDE, and can't wait to do another one!

Yeah and as for the missing fender...Melanie Johnson was kind enough to leave that as a marker....

Thanks for the fun filled day again!:ride:

Thanks for the pics. Great event. Hope CFMC keeps it going. I really enjoy ISDE type events. Good course. Lots of variation in terrain. Thanks again.

The Grizzly was a little tougher on me...won't be ridin' any time soon. Riding third or fourth gear pinned headin down off one of the long ridges, went to turn and realized I needed to go straight instead. Straightened it out and Wham. Crushed my foot between the bike and huge rock! Happened in the first part of the second long ass special on the second loop. According to the Dr. the bone in my right pinky toe is now dust. Nothing left to pin or plate to. Get to wear a nice cast on my right leg and obble around on crutches for 8-12 weeks. ;) If all the specials would have been as well brushed out as the first, I am sure there would have been more finishers. There were some pretty fast guys taken out by hidden stumps and rocks. The course was good though. My best finishes for the year in the offroad series. The new 2 stroker was workin' awesome! :ride: Unfortunately my season is now finished.:p
As for witnessing one of Don's epic flights through the brush at a high rate of speed after getting bucked of his bike...unforgetable! You may want to seek some sort of psychiatric therapy. I am sure there's some kind of perscription to help out with whatever you got going on!

Here's an idea...I did the same thing at the Desert 100 to my right big toe...exploded it. I made a tape cast for support, and secured it by taping it to my other toes. Put it in a boot, and was riding the next weekend. Left feet are the ride killers...hard to shift up. :ride:

Andy... that sucks buddy. Sorry to hear about this, excellent finish despite the crushed toe. Hang in there, according to my calendar you would miss three events over the next 8 weeks and maybe 5 over the next 12 weeks... if you still have all your throw aways and a worker day you could still be in it ;)

Hang in there and try to enjoy the summer :ride:

Unfortunatly I used all my throw aways when I dislocated my elbow Memorial Day weekend. Been a rough year. This should give my elbow enough time to be 100% when I come back though.;)

Yea I kinda know how you feel.
Im the one that started this thread and didn't even get to raced it because of another concussion ;) from week before. My head is still messed up:crazy: and don't know when it will be back to normal. Last time I was out of work for 4 months but this one doesnt feel as bad, so I'll be missing some races too, if not all the rest of the year.:ride:

Andy, I feel for your terrible luck, but brushing that much ground to the extent that test 1 was, is not possible, especially with the resources available. I tell ya nobody's beating down my door for an opportunity to come and sweat and get eaten alive by various bitting pests along with the occasional bee sting surprise and get dehydrated and painfully sore for the next few work days. ;) Just to go down the following weekend and do it all over again. We have a dedicated core in our club and they deserve huge kudos. I know. I have lived this race since last December.

First of all, Capitol is a fast hazardous place to ride and the trail edges are littered with stumps and rocks galore. This is dense forest and we did go through and try and expose hazards as much as possible but hazards are many ,and with the rain I'm sure vision and the brush hanging lower do hide things more than they wood on a dry day. Me and 6 other people worked 1 solid day brushing test 1 which was 2 miles in length, to give you an idea of what it would take. If you remember that same section at the time keeper enduro you had your head down on your gas tank and were still getting slapped around. Our club has spent countless hours in this forest brushing rebuilding trails, log out etc.. this year.

As you know we had 9 tests on the long course that all were in the neighborhood of 2 miles in length except for the one that you injured yourself on (9 miles) and the one up Capitol peak that was .5 miles. People choose different lines and you chose that one unfortunately. I did not hear of any one else finding that rock besides you. As you know I found a stump at the Time keeper in that same section and busted up my toes and foot and also did the same at the previous years Timekeeper. That is pretty common at Capitol.

Heal fast man it won't be the same without seeing you at the races, but it will definitely be easier finishing higher on the standings.:ride:

Hell Roscoe, if wasn't dangerous most of us would not want to do it... Once Andy is healed I'll train him on the finer points of crashing to include the "Human Helicopter" move and he can teach me how to avoid crashing all together.... :ride:

No, I was up at Walker Valley,
The strange thing is I was on a straight away, going up towards that upper area that has that giant rock mountain surrounded by swamps heading to a trail head. I was at the point were it was just flat dirt, had no rocks, no roots no corner no nothing....woke up on the side of the road laying in a puddle with my bike 10' away from me.
I don't remember anything and don't know how or what made me crash and don't know how long I was out.
I landed on the right side of my head, bent my goggle lens ripped up my right elbow, bad black and blue right hip and a bunch of cuts on the left side of my torso...I was wondering if something ran out and hit me?

I see a bunch of dear and stuff up there, even ran up on a lynx once and that was kinda cool.
But anyways the hole thing sucks:thumbsdn:
And I know it can always be worse.
