Hey fellow DRZer's! Can anyone tell me if it's possible to get a 2003 DRZ400E (actually the "green" model) plated in Utah? I know I could always sell it and buy an S model, but my bike is set up well and runs great, and it would cost a lot more to get an S to perform as well.

Thanks!

I know it's possible. My friend's son just plated a KLX400 two months ago. It was pretty easy for him.

If no one posts better info, I'll get with him and find out what he had to do.

Headlight, tail/brakelight, one mirror, horn, DOT tires, and an odometer of some sort (i have a simple trip odometer that passed). Take it to a place and get it safety inspected and passed, then to the DMV and get the title changed to a "dualsport" bike. Then they will get you the plate. Not terribly difficult. We had to do this to ride from the hotel to the trails in Moab.

Pretty much any small town auto repair place with a high school kid behind the counter is your best bet. Just make a few phone calls and see if they do motorcycle safety inspections. I did mine in Payson.

and now that I think about it, at the DMV, they didn't even ask to see the safety inspection paper work. Where are you located? Check out motoutah.com for local riders - its a pretty good site.
