***

i just installed the FCR a few days ago...and this thing act like ***.king Jekyl and hyde...

it runs perfectly, all jetting is perfect, no surging, and not much backfiring..very responsive

but once in a while, after a little bit of riding it just dies, for no reason....at first i though my idle was too low, and once i would pull the clutch in it would die..so i made my idle higher..and now...BAM, it dies...

all the cables are connected, and there is still alittle gas splashiong in the tank...

i did manage to turn it on a few times, but it just died the second i let go of the gas...
while i dirve its a dream...now its a nightmare

Does your fuel line make a straight line, or does it make a turn?
Mine acted like that until I spun the fuel inlet & made a straight run.

Check to see if your fuel screw is still in your carb...there have been a number of people who put a fuel screw in that was not a tight fit and when it fell out they had a similar problem.

hmm, but i had i turn off before..adjested the idle, and it went away..so it adds to the mystery...if i lost the screw ok..it would explain the present problem...but not yesterday it went dead twice, and then ran ok...

My bike did the exact same thing. IT drove me nuts, I had no bike for two weeks trying to figure it out. I checked everything in the carb. Turns out my oil had gas in it from sitting. Dont know how it happend, I suspect sitting around for a month fromt he previous owner. Check it out, I changed my oil and my bike was fine. Now I disconnect the gas line if it sits for more than a few days.

I would clean the carb maybe you picked up some sediment while on reserve

Honestly, you would probably be better off fixing the problem rather than try to bandaid it.
