Just did the MCCT, and now when I ride I hear a little bit of the 'rocks in a can' sound. Does this mean I didn't turn the screw in quite enough?
When I was adjusting it originally (at idle) I set it to the spot where the sound seemed to just go away, and as per the instructions on here, I did not turn it another 1/4 turn just to be safe, I locked it down right where it was. So do I maybe need to turn it in another 1/16 of a turn or something, just a tweek more?
the bike runs just as good as before, only difference is the rattle.
thanks:thumbsup:

It's like tuning an old radio.. finger tight, start, back out tighten till the rattle goes away,, Tighten lock nut and go ride.

As for new sounds..hard to diagnose over the Internet.

Hi:

Is the chain new?, if it has some unbalanced wear you will have some noise, don't worry, if the rattle gets louder and louder I would suggest to replace the chain, tightening it will increase the unbalance wear.

If the chain is new, "tune it" as bronco78 (BTW, thkx a lot for your support) says.

have fun,

j.

Post a picture of the installed MCCT. Maybe we can tell something from the bolt position.

can anyone tell anything from this pic?

[[on a side note: How does everyone take such clear and focused up-close pics of stuff? Does everyone have really good cameras or something? mine is a 5megapixel, is this just not good enough to take a clear up-close pic of something?]]

So you'll have to wait for gleaves to pop in as I have no idea what he was looking for... All I see is a MCCT installed, with the adjuster most of the way out (what i would exspect when used on a new chain.)

Then the picture confirms that there are not other problems - good. We can't hear what you hear or see what you see.
