07 wr450 graphics replacment

hello all , was hoping for some help regarding if i buy graphics for say a 07 yz450f will they fit on my wr450 without much alteration? i am not real keen on destroying graphics trying to alter them . i have searched but could not find a concrete answer. I bought a set of YZ graphics for my 07 WR.

The rad shroud graphics are close, and fit with a bit of heat to help them flex.

The airbox graphics don't fit properly.

+1 on the shroud graphics, they are definitely close enuf to make them work.

I am glad this question was posted, because I drove all around today looking for graphic kits and found nothing. Everything is for the yzf, and I have the 07 wr450 also. I really like the yamaha of troy kit and it has tank graphics, and shroud graphics, fork guard graphics that I was questioning, and a seat cover, and airbox graphics. I was not able to find any info either. So I just saw above that the air box graphics are different, do you guys know about the rest of the spots? I know the fenders, should work and the swing arm works, but that Is all I know. Thanks for the help.

Here's the YZ graphics kit I bought.

The airbox and numberplate graphics didn't fit, but the fenders, rad shrouds and even the seat cover were fine. I haven't mounted the fork guard graphics yet but they also look very close. Even WR fork leg grahpics need a bit of heat to help them mold properly to the fork guards.

For all my graphics, I heat up the plastic. I simply turn a stove burner on and hold the plastic above it and get it as hot as possible without softening the plastic. Then I hold the graphic above the burner for a few seconds to warm it up, and begin applying to the plastic. The plastic will stay warm for a while, and if I need a bit more heat as I'm applying, I simply hold over the burner for a few seconds.

The heat helps the graphics stretch and mold into tight corners, (like on te fork guards) and an added benefit is that any tiny air bubbles you may have will shrink when the fender cools.

Hey Frosty , did you happen to come up with a source for a black or a white 07 wr headlight shell? I'm trying to find one for mine .I don't feel like dying one. I know ufo makes the number plates and the rear fender, But it did not see a listing for the headlight

I didn't find a white shell so I bought another blue one and stretched the white YZ front number plate graphic over it. It wouldn't pass a close inspection but good enough for a drive by.

the closest thing I can find to the stock one, is the one on my 06 crf250x it looks like bolt right on just like the original ,but I have not tryed it.

tweav, I bought a stock one and painted it white with Krylon's fusion paint... unfortunately I had a little get off and broke my camera the other day so I took some pics with my phone, quality sucks but you'll get the idea....

It has held up for one ride that I know at least few branches whacked it, I think the bike looks good in all white WR trim:thumbsup: The guy at the hardware store said rustoleum (I think) was coming out with a better plastic paint than the Krylon fusion:excuseme:

It looks good from what I can tell from the pics. I'm getting very tired of the stock blue look . I'm thinking I like the white and black much better.??

There's a paint-on rubber coating that I used to use for some of my tools. It goes on thick but is very flexible. I wonder if that would work?

Your 250 cowl looks very close Tweav. You'd probably have to use the 250 light, the WR ight is a bit more angular.
