Best off road tire for the money

Recommended Posts

I guess I'll throw in here as well. I am currently using the Maxxis IT rear and it is wearing well and has good traction for most of the varied terrain we ride here in the rockies ( mud, roots, logs and rocks), I will however have to agree with SMJC Don on the Sakura Dirt Shark as a great, cheap rear tire. I tried one on the front and took it off after 1 ride as it was waaaay to scary for me. I went back to the Pirrelli MT44 front that I have been using for the last 10 years and won't go away from it again. WR Dave.

I live in New Albany, work in Louisville.

I found a guy near me on craigs list with new tires for sale

NEW TIRES:

Bridgestone M401 front 80/100/21 (quantity 3)

Dunlop 739FA front 80/100/21

Michelin M12 front 90/90/21

Michelin M12 rear 130/70/19

Michelin S12 rear 130/80/18

$35.00 ea, will the 130/80/18 work on a wr426 or will it be to wide.

Michelin 130 is like anyone else's 110... I have typically run Michelin 140's on all my WR's so you will have no issues with a 130.

Those are good prices, I would buy the S-12 just don't expect it to last very long (depending on how often you ride) It will hook up seriously and will give you a new found respect for the throttle. An S-12 will also continue to get great traction even as it wears to 50% or more. I don't know bout the other fronts listed but the M-12 is a decent front tire, it's narrow but works well I've been running one now for a couple months.. it's soft and will wear kinda fast but it's an all around good tire.
