I want to do the throttle stop & grey wire mods.

Are they hard to do?

How long do each of them take to do?

I am thinking about doing the YZ timing mod.

Is it hard to do?

If I do the throttle stop & grey wire mods how much of a difference will it make to my 400?

Thanks!

Throttle stop and grey wire are easy and shouldn't take but a few minutes to do. Just be careful not to cut the throttle stop screw down too far. (You can of course just buy a YZ screw as well.) There are excellent step by step instructions in these pages for doing this.
This is by far the biggest performance gain of any of the mods, since in stock form the bike is severely governed.

Thanks Bullwinkle.
I'll probably just buy the YZ Throttle Stop.

Did you get a new bike Marcus? You've had a 400 for a few years now, surely you haven't been riding that long with the throttle slide only going up half way.

Marcus asked these very same questions over 2 years ago.

Maybe he finally collected enough cans to afford $16.80 for a throttle stop.

I replied in one of those threads, so I knew he had asked before. Now I know better.

No I didn't get a new bike.

I have never done the free mods to my bike.

I need to re-jet I know because it sputters a little.

I have the YZ Throttle Stop.

I also have the YZ Pilot Jet & YZ Needle.

Should I install them all when I do the Free Mods.Is it hard to install a YZ Cam?

I have a K & N air filter & the baffle removed of course.

Should I buy the Boyesen Quickshot Accelerator Pump Cover?

If I buy the FMF Powerbomb MX Header will it fit into the stock muffler & it will be out of the way of the oil filter also.

Thanks!
