She rode it stock for a couple of years. Complained about the suspension so we picked up a KX100 with a blown motor this winter and did a near complete tear down of the DRZ. We live close to Factory Connection so I had them set up the forks and shock. The rest of the swap was pretty easy following the advice of those who had been through this before here on other posts. Did decide to go with a rear master cylinder from a CRF250 to eliminate the fluid reservior and used a brake line from Fastline from a KX250 due to the smaller diameter line. Add some new plastic and the photo is of the finished bike. Been out riding the past few weeks and she says there is a noticable improvement. Next I would like to fab a frame cradle for it.

First time lacing a wheel, was easy and true within .005 inch but i hear bigger wheels are harder

If you understand how to true a wheel (which you obviously do) they are all easy. Make sure to check the wheel for roundness....that's more important then side to side. A round wheel is a strong wheel

Ya i checked the roundness and it was good also. I watched some videos in youtube and that helped. I want to do supermoto wheels on my 400 but i think ill just buy a full set already done. Thanks for the reply

Something a little different, technically a KLX125 but it's the same thing, 17" wheels and bridgestone slicks for supermoto duty
