Tennis balls vs Moose Bibs vs tube

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever heard of running tennis balls (27 of them) intead of a tube or spending the money for Moose Bibs. I meet a guy who rides expert in the Desert and WORCS series and he swears by them. He also plays on the Moto track as well He changes tires and balls every second race One to two months. He says even when he blows 1/2 of the balls the tire is still firm. He runs them front and rear.

Awesome Idea........... Now just how the hell am i going to carry extra tennis balz in my fender pack??

AH, I know. You put them in your spokes. :busted:

NO REALLY, not a bad idea on the balz thing. I wonder how that would work for the average trail rider?

Wouldn't the back tire need less, but larger balz? or just more of the standard Balz?

You kin get like 100 Tennis Balz on e-bay for like $20............

All I know is that they are stuffed on the inside of tire He said it is about the same as running 14 psi Like I said he is a expert class rider I have not personally seen it I am only going by what he has told me. I told him I want to watch him change his next tire so I care see it for myself. In the Desert he averages 70 to 80 mph.

its a good idea, but flawed. this tip came up in motoverte magazine, the following month a guy sent in a picture of about 30 tennis balls he'd destroyed after one outing. buy some bib mousses they are fit and forget.

I am not to sure on the tubeless thing I race in the Desert and we go through some pretty rocky stuff. At least with a tube there is a little more protection not much but some also when you slime it it is less mess. I have been thinking about bibs for a while now and most likely start running bibs fot the 2009 season not sure how they will last in 115 deg F heat.

Are you talking about protecting the rim from hitting rocks?

This is what I think I'll get for this upcoming season.
