I have had the Tubliss front and rear for about four months now.  I run the Maxxis Desert IT 18" on the rear and the Maxxis ST 21" on the front.  I race and train in the desert at least once a week.  I have done everything I could do(not on purpose) to get a flat on these tires.  I run through jagged rocks, thorn bushes and other terrain that would pinch the hell out of a tube.  I have not had a flat in four months!  And the great part is, I run about 7-8psi in the tires at all times.  I finally got tired of changing tubes every two weeks.  That is how hard I am on the tires!  One more point.  I can replace tires in about 8 minutes.  I give the Tubliss system an A+.

How about a tubliss 18" with a Pirelli trials tire @ 8lbs?

Couldn't tell you about a trials tire.  Good question for NuTech.

For what? Trials?  ... sounds like a win win.

For desert, and speed...  lose lose.  (trials tires melt down.. quick)

I gotta say...I'm really liking this system.  I've been riding the front for about 100 miles now, and haven't gotten around to putting slime in it yet.  Went for a 30 miler or so on Wednesday and flatted the front early on with a puncture; rode the entire remainder of the ride in moderately rocky conditions and had no issues; in fact, it worked at least as well falt as it had with 10 lbs in the front.  Gonna plug the puncture tonite, add some slime, and ride tomorrow.  Rode it dead flat about as hard as I'll go when I'm out alone, no bead issues, no issues at all, really.

I do think that we might benefit from other's experiences as to which tires are working best at these low pressures.  I'm currently running a B403 front because I've had such poor luck with Maxxis IT fronts in anything remotely wet; however as I noted I did manage to put something through the tire in conditions which I ride in a lot, and the carcass has some pretty good rock cuts that don't penetrate all the way through as well (although that might be from riding it flat for 25 miles or so...).

It is seriously good fun to be topping up the liner and have someone ask, "Whatcha running today?", reply, "Oh, the ususal 110...", shrug, and walk away...

Steve

Well I must be SOL....the owner (can't remember the name) left a message on
my voicemail saying they aren't available until June 1st. :p

Not the worst thing in the world, but I would have liked to used them for next
weekend's race since I have been having such a hard time with flats.

I run the Maxxis tire mainly because of the stiff sidewall.  I like the ST in the front, but next I am going to run the SI.  Better all around tire for desert.

i talked to the guys at neutech, and they were tellin me that there was a guy in the dakar that ran it in one super sandy stage with no air. but cause the bead is still pressed against the rim, it ran awsome.

I found one 19" at BTO sports and ordered it just the other day.  Bad luck though it was one of the early ones which Jeff said they had problems with the inner tube, because after it was installed and seemed great no leaks the little high pressure tube blew out at a seam and lost all tire air pressure.  Jeff being the good guy he is sent me two high pressure tubes for free so I could have one as a spare.  I can't wait to try out the system at a sand race this next weekend.

I take it your going to Farmington next weekend.  I've been running the Tubliss since Tarantula with no flats.  Socorro last year was the last draw for me.  Could not keep the tire aired up the whole weekend!  I'm loving the new system though.

Lucky You:worthy: .  I found last year that the Dunes were some of the funnest trails that I had ever ridden.  Yes, a group of us are coming up for the race.  Wouldn't miss this one for the world!

How do you know if you had an early model? Just because the tube went bad or are there some other ways to tell?

Jeff knows exactly what to look for....  if you have the tube in hand, it's not too hard to know. If it's already installed, well... you'll need to take it out to know for sure.

Best part, is he'll replace it without question. Usually sending you a couple new inner cores, rather than just one tube.  Impeccable guy.... and understands "our" need as a rider.   Even impatient ones, like me.  :p

He held back production on some 21s and 19s due to this issue until it got ironed out. Another reason he's so on top of sending out replacements. Kind of a 'cover his ass' move, which I don't blame him. But, again... I think he does it not to cover his ass, but to make every customer happy and to stand behind his product.

+1 on this.  Customer service like this is pretty hard to find these days; Jeff is amazing!
